The cell unit's concept map
This concept map is for a cell unit for high-school students (biology class.) This present the plan for the cell unit. I, as a teacher, can create a full lesson plan using this concept map. That because I organized what the lessons I will consider in this unit. When I show this concept map to my students, they, also, can use this concept map as a guide (before and while we take the unit) or even as a review for the unit (after we finish the unit.) this also, show the classification for the cell types. By mapping such this details, teachers will help the students memorize and remember the cell types.

week 10 Screencasting
what I would like to explain is a good free website "Pinterest" that is similar to the Instagram, but it is ,in my opinion, more helpful and organized.
when you register to this website you will find many categories so you can follow your favorites such as education, make up , fashion, and so on. "Users can upload, save, sort, and manage images—known as pins—and other media content (e.g., videos and images) through collections known as pinboards."
here I show you how to use pinterest for educational purpose.

A Lesson using Google Maps
I will assume that I am a microbiology teacher for high-school student in Kalamazoo.
my lesson is about the Microbial Diversity in Water. As an example, we will examine the South Haven Beach water. so, my students have to go to the beach and take a water sample from the same area and then, in school lab next day, they will discover how many kinds of microbes they will find in their samples.
I will use Google Map to help the students to do this homework. Because not all my students are familiar with the area, I put the best route they can use to go to South Haven Beach and also I determined the specific area I want them to test in this map: please zoom in until you can see the targeted area in black boundary

history of the field- week 6
|
If I assigned as one of the evaluators for the project, and my finding clearly indicate that the innovation had very little effect on the manner in which instruction was presented in the teachers’ classroom, I can describe some possible reasons for that. The first possible reason that may let the project had very little effect on the instructional practices employed by the teacher is “the teachers resistance to change.” For example, let’s think how difficulties can occur for the math teacher in this project. As we all know, mathematics is one of the most difficult course to explain. Teachers need to use colorful pens in order to explain some mathematical problems. Also, they need to write many kinds of mathematical symptoms, draw curves and so on. Those teachers will not found it easy to use the laptops instead of pens or chalk and boards to explain in class. Or even to evaluate their students work. Moreover, “the failure to provide teachers with adequate guidance as to how to integrate the new media into their instructional practices” can be a reason lets the project had very little effect on the teacher’s instructional practices. For instance, for the science teacher, using the computer is very helpful. There are a lot of pictures, videos, and another helpful features of using the computer in science education. However, if the teacher do not know how to address all these features and integrate them into his or her instructional practices, there will not be an effective role of using these computers. In addition, the last reason I would like to add here is “the cost associated with purchasing and maintaining the necessary media hardware”. For example, when the language art teacher wanted to use a microphone to record the students’ sounds, in order to improve their pronunciation, the quality was very poor. Or, even if the teacher wanted to use the headphones, for phonetics practices, the headphones were poor quality. So, the teacher cannot use these features, and using the laptops was not too helpful in this case.
In my opinion, there are two strategies that may help to solve the problems above. First, is to provide a required course in using instructional technology for the teachers. So, they can address using the computers, and integrate them into their instructional practices perfectly. The second strategy is to test all the laptops by an expert and devote a budget for the maintenance work of these laptops to solve any problems such as the poor quality.

My Wiki Site
Hi everyone..
Click Manal's wiki to visit my wiki site ..
also, those are my First page & my Second page
thank you.
week 4 reflection- wiki space
After I have
experienced setting up and using a wiki space, the first thing comes to my mind
is that wiki is a perfect technology for creating lesson plans. That because I,
as a new teacher, will need some help and some editing for my lesson plans from
my sisters and friends who are teachers. So, I can create my lesson plan and
then share it with them to avoid mistakes as possible as I can. For example,
they may tell me it will be better if you divide that lesson into two days instead
of one day. Or, they may ask me to add something interesting to the lesson to
keep students engaged. Moreover, I can use wiki for a whole class project. For instance,
this week the project will be to write about a certain scientist. So, each group
or student will post something about that scientist. Or even if many scientist developed
the same topic or domain, I will let each group to pick a scientist and write
what he did or what are his achievements in that domain. Also, I can use wiki
with my students as a performance list. For example, I can post every week the
names of the excellent students for that week, and give them a space to
comment. I think that will encourage the students to do their best to be in
this list. Also, I can use wiki at the end of the semester to create a review
plan page, so the students will have a space to list their questions for the
review. In this way, I can organize the review lesson to be able to answer all
their questions and add other day for the review if needed. In addition, the
principle of the school or any other group’s leader can use wiki to organize
their meeting. For instance, if the principle of the school want to do a convention,
he can use wiki to give a chance to the teachers to list what points they want
to discuss. All those are some ideas to use wiki for educational purposes.
Not only in my
career life wiki will help me, but also in my normal life as well. I think wiki
will be a great and helpful technology to organize my events. For example, if I
and my family plan to do a surprise for my brother, who will graduate soon,
wiki will be the best tool to help us organize this party. We can share our
ideas about the place we will celebrate in, the best time for all of us, and
the other things we will need for the celebration. Finally, the ideas above
were some of my thoughts about wikis, and there are multiple uses for wiki to
our different needs.

My reflection on week 3
I was thinking few years ago that
someday I have to create a blog. That because I know this technology, and I was
following some blogs. However, because I decided to read carefully and learn
about the blog before I create it, I feel lazy each time I think about it. So,
I am happy that I did it for this class, and I surprised that creating a blog
is so easier than I thought. On the other hand, RSS was something I have never
hear about it. I surprised when I learned how it can bring the newest from my
favorite websites. I liked the idea of RSS reader, and I liked how it can save
my time. I feel sad that I did not know about it before. I am very excited to learn
more and more valuable technologies.
If I would like to put the blog and
the RSS reader in the Dale’s Cone, I think they can be under two parts
depending on what we post on them. First they can be in the “verbal symbols”
part because we use them to write and read. Also, we may post videos or a
pictures, so, they can be under the visual symbols.
Considering Siegel’s concept of
“computer imagination”, I think the blog and the RSS can be used in different
imaginative ways. For example, as a teacher, I can post in my blog more
creative and interesting information related to the topic I have taught that
day. So, I can keep the students engaged to the lesson. I, also, can put some
suggested links that they can put in their RSS reader to keep the students updated
with their interest. Also, by using the educational blog, I can give the
students a space to post their questions about the lesson any time they want. I
am sure that the creative teachers can do more valuable and amazing ideas using
the blog and RSS reader.

My reflections on Postman's Of Luddites, Learning, and Life & Beyond Technology Integration by Reigeluth and Joseph
firs of all, I would like to say " thank you" to my classmate Luis Medina because I copied her long title from her reflection in the e-learning.
Here is my own reflection:
I was interested
reading the two articles that are about technology and education. For Joseph’s
article, he discussed whether technology will support the teaching methods to
improve the learning process. He also was asking what they will need to success
for the ‘technology transformation”. I found myself agree with his points. I like
when he said “to meet these new educational needs, our educational system must
switch its focus from sorting to learning…” I also was remembering some experiences or
situation that support and incarnate some of his points. “For example, when he
mentioned how technology “can be used to create methods that were previously
not feasible”, the first thing comes into my mind was: how the internet improves
the education. People in the past were not able to be updated with the new global
changes and additions in the different learning fields. They were traveling
over the seas to learn and research, but today, they can research and
participate in classes while they are sitting in their houses. He also emphasizes
the roles that people paly beside the technology in the education and how
teachers can help in the technology transformation. This point reminds me many
years ago when my big sister’s school provided by a computer lab, the problem was,
at that time, that not all the teachers were familiar with using the computer. So,
for the first months there were no big benefit from that lab, but after the
teachers had training courses in using computer, the benefit realized.
When I start
reading the second article by Neil postman, I was about to be sure that the
author is an old man. I did a quick research about the author and I found that I
am right and he wrote that article when he was around 62 years old. To tell the
truth, in the beginning I felt that this man do not like the changes that
technology did in the life. He was caring about the economy and the bad things
that he thinks the technology cause. However, in the very last paragraph I felt
that his words implied something else that I did not understand. In short, I don’t
think that technology is really bad and that is normal that people cannot read everything
written.
